In Studio Session with a young, aspiring Child Model! Its always a great day when I get to photograph young talent! The EL PASO and LAS CRUCES area really has some of the cutest CHILD MODELS. Don't you agree? With covid putting off this model session for many months, I was finally able to get this young girl in front of my camera at my home STUDIO on the WESTSIDE of El Paso. As you can see, she is super comfortable in front of the camera and she took direction very well!Of course I won't say her name because she in a minor, but we had such a blast at her session!
Funny story that happened during the session, her Mom was laughing after she came out of the room from an outfit change and I said, "What's so funny?' Mom said, "We went into the bathroom and my daughter said, Mom, we need to get your camera to take pictures like that!" "I explained to her that it wasn't the camera, that it was the photographer, her Mom said!" Hahahaha!I still laugh when I think about it! Creative, Modern, and Romantic images for the El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, Albuquerque, and Canutillo area.A Certified Professional Photographer who specializes in Wedding, Portraits, Headshots, and Extreme Sports.www.chrisindatreadwell.com (0 comments)

I enjoy every opportunity that I have to photograph ENGAGEMENT sessions in the El Paso and Las Cruces area.
What do I love about Engagement Sessions? Well, its such a great opportunity to get to know couples in a time in their lives that they are ending the dating chapter and beginning their Marriage journey. The smiles, the hugs, the joy.......so fun! And, El Paso, well, the sun and Franklin Mountains never disappoint.
Shot in the late afternoon on the Northeast side of the Franklins, the beauty in El Paso really does give us some beautiful scenery and the ease of social distancing!
This beautiful couple was referred to me by Angie's Flowers and when I met them, I had hoped we would work together. They were so kind and caring towards me and I could see that their lives were filled with faith and a love that every couple should hold dear. Creating artistic images for the El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, Albuquerque, and Canutillo area.www.chrisindatreadwell.com (0 comments)

A Business Headshot session to reflect the times!

New roles and a new reality, this family adjusts to make great memories. Wow, this was such a FUN BUSINESS HEADSHOT session!Whatever we have faced this year, life still goes on and capturing special moments with family has become more important in our lives, don't you agree?A session that took place in my HOME STUDIO on the Westside of El Paso, Tx, we definitley took all the precautions necessary for my clients to feel at ease and safe. My client had a plan for a certain look and feel to this special CREATIVE HEADSHOT.When Pablo contacted me and gave me the ideas he had, I was game! He explained to me his thoughts and what he was looking for and I took his idea a tiny step further and asked him to allow his son to bring his favorite super hero toys that he plays with to the session as well. A little shy at first, Pablo's son quickly felt at ease knowing he got to hold his toys in the shots too! We had such a fun time. Pablo told me HILARIOUS STORIES about zoom calls with work and how his 4 year old son impacted some of them, which prompted his idea for this session. Can you all relate? Do you have funny zoom stories to share? Post them in the comments! We would love to hear about it. Some heartfelt words from my client,"I wanted to update my headshot, but also to have some fun with it as a reflection of my current reality. For the past 3 months I have been working from home balancing work/family life with my 4 year-old son. My wife is an essential health care worker at our local hospital, so needless to say, there’s been some interesting virtual meeting impromptu (and hilarious) moments with my little one. So allow me to re-introduce myself, I am Pablo A. Magdaleno Carlos, Development Manager for the New York Life El Paso General Office/Full Time Dad/Cook/Teacher/Janitor/Trampoline and more, pleasure meeting you."
-Pablo Magdaleno When your client posts his image on his LinkedIn profile and it goes VIRAL?!? Take a look at those NUMBERS! Over this past weekend, Pablo sent me a text/image and simply said, "Chris. Did you see? We went viral!"I had been watching the image gain popularity over the weeks since it was posted, but the "Views" shocked me! Pablo has been great supporter of my business and has trusted me to take his headshots over the years and to say "WE went viral" well, that really made me feel great about my work and thankful for my loyal clients. I felt appreciative for being able to provide an AWESOME image and for giving my clients a GREAT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE!
Headshot Sessions for KIDS TOO! So, what do you do, as a photographer, when you have a super cute kid, with LOTS of PERSONALITY, that is spinning around on your stool, because you let him, and Dad has stepped away? Well, you ask Dad, QUICKLY, if you can take a couple of frames of his son!For me, its about allowing kids to BE KIDS! These super cute shots happened IN BETWEEN me asking for FUNNY FACES. Great right?!We laughed and he made faces for me for a WHOLE 4 MINUTES! Yes, just 4 minutes, from start to finish. Seems short, huh? But it's certainly a long time for a young boy with LOTS of ENERGY. I was so happy to get these AWESOME images and so were his parents!

Downtown El Paso, San Jancito Plaza, and a High School Senior!

A beautiful smile and dreams for the future, this was certainly a session to remeber! Before life changed for us all, let me take you back to a special moment this past February, where a 2020 High School Senior had her "Senior Session" with us!It was a cloudy day, as it seems to go for me when I plan sessions at San Jancito Plaza, and I met this High School Senior for the first time. Why did I say a "special moment" earlier when describing this session? Well, little did we all know that life would change for us all a few short weeks after this session and blogging about this session takes me back to that moment and is a reminder of how precious life is.I photograph many people, blessed for sure to work a job I love, but my business and the challenges it now faces, will test my small business and its endurance, but for now, we wait, we wait to move forward and to once again provide our clients with memorable images.I have a passion to photograph High School Seniors and to give them a true, fun experience while I capture a very important moment in their life. I want them to remember their time with me and my business and to love their images so much that they have a hard time choosing their favorites! This session is not about my gear or any technical terms, which I normally talk about, but just about a young lady who has dreams for the future and a mom who was just happy that she found me. What can I say about this beautiful young lady, but that she was quietly excited and nervous about her session. That nervousness quickly faded when I showed her the images of her that I had taken on my camera. She followed my direction well and let the bystanders compliment her and watch as the session continued on. Yes, we bring a little attention with us, but I want my clients to feel important and to feel my undivided attention to them no matter who is around.I feel like, or have learned that everyone can be a natural in front of the camera, with the right direction and this High School Senior was just awesome to photograph!Although life is different for this High School Senior now and Graduation for her may not happen, I am so thankful that she had fun and that we had a chance to chat and talk about life and the future during her session. We are excited to see how life will play out for her as she starts on a new path in her life's journey. We certainly appreciate her and her mom for allowing us to be part of this special moment!Check out more at www.chrisindatreadwell.com/seniors A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR ALL 2020 AND 2021 HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS:
Over the past few weeks, all of our lives have changed dramatically, but one thing has become very clear: FAMILY IS EVERYTHING!
That’s why for upcoming 2020 AND 2021 seniors who get on my schedule, this Summer and early Fall, when it is safe to photograph again, I am also including a FREE FAMILY SESSION!
This session can be for everyone in your family…...from your extended family to your pets.
All you have to do is book your senior session (contact me), and when the all-clear is given by our city to open or business again, I will be in touch to schedule your sessions.
Families will heal America! I can’t wait to photograph yours. Creative, Modern, and Romantic images for the El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, Albuquerque, and Canutillo area.A Certified Professional Photographer who specializes in Wedding, Portraits, Headshots, and Extreme Sports.www.chrisindatreadwellcom (0 comments)

A local business builds her brand for the wellness of your body and mind. A beautiful, cool day at MEMORIAL PARK in EL Paso, Tx!HEADSHOTS AND BRANDING SESSIONS!Why should you use photography to reinforce your personal brand? It's an excellent way to take advantage of the visual nature of the human brain. When building an online portfolio you need high-quality and authentic images that will show the personality of your brand. It’s a great way to instantly connect with your future clients or current customers.
Professional photography will give your personal brand a layer of trust and appeal. It's the digital age and you need your blog or website to have appealing and strong images that represent who you are to keep people’s attention. Each BUSINESS BRANDING SESSION is tailored to your particular business. We incorporate who you are and what you want your images to reflect about your brand. This session we photographed Michelle, with Intuitive Wellness with Michelle. Meet Michelle.Reiki Master Michelle Moskauski was very sick in her early teen years. No doctors were able to figure out what was wrong with her. Her entire body was in pain, and it was a chiropractor who introduced her to Reiki. After a few treatments, she was pain-free and a true believer. In July 2018 she felt her calling to help others as she had been helped. With that resolve, she set out to find a teacher and began her training five days later.Michelle became certified Desert Lotus and Mahaananda Reiki Master teacher. She completed her master certifications in December of 2018. She was certified by Mahaananda Reiki Grand Master SukhiDevi.I hope you enjoy getting to know Michelle and her El Paso business. WHAT IS REIKI
Reiki is a Japanese technique that promotes healing, stress reduction, and relaxation. It is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us.The word Reiki is comprised of two Japanese words, the word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”.Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT A SESSION
Upon arrival, you will be lead to the treatment room. After a brief discussion of what issues you wish to be addressed during the treatment, you will lie down face up on the treatment table. Pillows and blankets are provided to ensure your comfort. Relaxing music plays softly in the background. After scanning your aura with my palms to determine which chakras are blocked, I start with the chakras in the head, working my way down along the spine. Throughout the treatment, my hands will either be hovering just above or gently resting on you. There is no physical manipulation involved in this treatment.www.intuitivewellnessep.com

Just the perfect day for a WEDDING! HOTEL ENCANTO in Las Cruces, NM was the location and it did not disappoint! I first met Frances and Gil at the Las Cruces Bridal Fair at the beginning of the year. I was so happy when they called asking to book my photography services.Frances has such an eye for detail and I knew her wedding was going to be AMAZING! The Beauty and the Grandeur of it all was what weddings are supposed to be, but the tears during the ceremony made the wedding moments heartfelt and genuine.Frances and Gil are about family, friends and just surrounding themselves with good loving people. From day 1 they wanted it to be about their day. Never to compete or compare, just about them and expressing the love they share throughout their wedding day.I appreciate their trust in me and my photography to capture all of that.I LOVE their photos and I know you will too! The Bride.Perfect Curls, Flawless make-up, and a calm cool attitude.Frances was such beautiful bride and her dress, Wow, the details and the lace, Amazing! She has such a giving heart and is truly a great human. The Groom.Nicely fitted suit, clean cut hair, and such ease in front of the camera!Gil was surrounded by his Best Friends throughout the entire wedding day.He showed his heart during the ceremony and brought tears to all of our eyes.
The WEDDING PARTY......WOW!!Yes, you are seeing it correctly, Frances and Gil have a lot of Family and Friends!I told Frances, I don't think I even have that many friends in total!! LOL!But, Wow, what fun we had! They loved the camera and I LOVED THAT! The poses....so fun! We laughed so hard! They look great, Right?! The sincerest Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Hernandez!!!Treadwell Photography wishes you well and many happy years of marriage. A Photographer who specializes in creating images that will last a lifetime!

Family fun in the sand while celebrating a birthday too!! Such a great day in Alamogordo, NM. for a SUNSET FAMILY session!I must confess. All the years I have lived in the Sun City, the trips to WHITE SANDS NATIONAL MONUMENT have been few. I have actually never stayed long enough, on those day trips, to see a sun set on the white majestic dunes. It certainly was fun to be there and to photograph the Pegueros Family! It was Erika's birthday and she wanted to to celebrate with a family session. With their son's off to college this fall, Erika said to me that she just wanted some family pictures to remember this time, this moment, in their lives. We had lots of fun, as you can see, and the session ended with Erika cutting her cake and sharing it with us. Great right?!www.chrisindatreadwell.com

The McKelligon Canyon ceremony and their colorfully decorated reception showed how much went into making this day special. As you will see from the images and the PACKED dance floor, IT WAS FUN!The sun was bright but the love expressed during the ceremony was even brighter! What I appreciated most, Robert and Tobi checking on us to see that we had enough yummy tacos to eat!
Tobi and Robert, a great love for each other and for their cute little family. The weather on the Westside of El Paso was hot, a tiny bit windy, but yet, as beautiful as ever for an ENGAGEMENT session!I love these sessions, especially with a couple who wants "outside of the box" photographs. For the first part of the session I had to find an area that could accommodate their requests. A short walk and an area to get the whole family photographed was needed. The second part, we drove up to catch the amazing SUNSET that El PASO is famous for.I take time to scout locations, before my session. It's important for me to be prepared and let my clients know that their time with me is valuable. Both locations worked out great and I am really happy with the photographs!Take a look at this beautiful FRANKLIN MOUNTAIN ENGAGEMENT session......... I first met Tobi and Robert at the Days of Remembrance Bridal Quince and Sweet 16 Fair July of 2018. They came to my booth, looked around, we talked and they asked questions and then decided to continue on. I saw them come around again a few hours later and they came up to me and said they were ready to book! Yay!!! And yes, I book weddings on the spot at Bridal Fairs! With their upcoming wedding this July, it was a long wait to get these two in front of my camera for their ENGAGEMENT session. So how did the "furry kids" come into the picture, literally?! Well, Tobi sent me a text and asked if they could include their "kids" in the session since they are such an important part of their family. I immediately said, Yes, whatever you both want to do! I want my clients to know that I will adjust and include what they want in their engagement session. Its about them, their love, their photographs.I knew this session was going to be special. Just look at the images and feel the love they have for each other and for their "kids!" As you can see from the photographs, we had so much fun!Did you notice the two boys had bow ties on?! So cute!I truly am blessed with the greatest clients.I am so excited and honored to be part of their WEDDING DAY in just a few weeks!Congratulations Tobi and Robert!! A Certified Professional Photographer creating artistic images for the El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, Albuquerque, and Canutillo area.www.chrisindatreadwell.com (0 comments)

Excited for a June Wedding with an Amazing couple! Of course the El Paso Downtown lights never disappoint for an Engagement session! The wind was calm at Tom Lea park and the sun was coming down nicely. The weather lately, here in El Paso, has been WINDY, so I am happy for a calm days.We took some images while we waited for the sun to come down and this couple was game for all my suggestions. Have I said that I have the BEST CLIENTS?! Well, I certainly do!!Engagement sessions are such a wonderful way to get to know the bride and groom before their wedding day. Are they blinkers? What kind of posing works for them? Modern or more traditional? Knowing a little bit about your bride and groom really helps prepare for the wedding day.
www.chrisindatreadwell.com I first met this wonderful couple after an inquiry from my website. I connected with the bride right away. Super polite and friendly and it was such joy to meet her fiancé and her parents at the wedding meeting just a few days after our initial phone contact. We met and we looked over my books and talked about their theme and plans for their big day in June.As we talked, we laughed, and I felt humbled by their kind words about my photography.I find great joy in being invited to be part of special days like this and I aspire to give each couple the best of me!I know the bride is going to look beautiful in her wedding gown and the groom, well, he surely won't disappoint.Wish them a great wedding day and don't forget to look for their wedding blog in July!

A family affair at a UTEP Graduation session. Makes my heart happy! Always a beautiful day in sunny El Paso, Tx!We headed to UTEP for Faith's graduation session and her brothers joined in on the session as well!It was a windy day near Downtown El Paso, but Faith was very patient as we waited for the pockets of wind to calm so we could take some frames. An hour session turned into 2 hours because of wind delays, but it all worked out.We had a ton of fun and her brothers were so funny too!As you can see, Faith is beautiful and she photographs so well that my job was super easy that day.Her mom, Teresa, and her 2 brothers followed us around as we walked the UTEP campus to look for areas to use. We talked about her future plans and how great it was to graduate from college and start the next chapter of her life.I have become very fond of Teresa and her family, genuine people, and I certainly appreciate their trust in my company.Thank you Teresa for the bottles of water for my assistant and I! You rock!www.chrisindatreadwell.com Can I just say, even though brothers and sisters disagree and may not like each other sometimes, the Cyr kids really showed expressions of love. They never complained and followed all of my instructions. It was nice to see them hug on each other and just be funny in front of the camera. A true reflection of their parents, Paul and Teresa. Young adults who have manners and are respectful......AWESOME! We wish Faith well in all her adventures in life and we hope she remembers her graduation session with fond memories.CONGRATULATIONS FAITH!! Treadwell Photography would like to keep you informed on new "blogs", up and coming "seasonal specials", and "tips and tricks" to becoming a better photographer yourself!Click the button to "subscribe" to leave us your email and we will make sure you are kept in the loop! Creative, Modern, and Romantic images for the El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, Albuquerque, and Canutillo area.A Certified Professional Photographer who specializes in Wedding, Portraits, and Extreme Sports. (0 comments)

Grand Opening for Floor Coverings International!

A new location and a ribbon cutting event for a westside business owner! The sun was setting in the El Paso sky and the Franklin Mountains were aluminating the sunset glow! It was a great, cool weather, evening to photograph a ribbon cutting ceremony for Floor Coverings International.Always happy to give my time for a new business and to share in the joy of their Grand Opening!A far reach from photographing Weddings and Professional Head Shots, but this event is definitely just as important.Being a small business owner myself, I understand the joy and excitement of opening a new location and also the hard work that it has taken to get to this point.www.chrisindatreadwell.com What is Floor Coverings International all about? The owner, Linda Leach, describes it best on her website: Flooring made easy, simple, and stress-free. They understand that each home is special, and therefore requires attention to detail. Their focus is paying close attention to detail when it comes to your floors. And the Mobile Showroom, well, that is a really awesome part of her company! No more time spent at carpet stores, wandering around and picking up samples because you can schedule a free IN-HOME Design Consultation with one of their expert Design Associates. They will arrive on time in their Mobile Flooring Showroom. Inside the Mobile Showroom they have thousands of flooring choices that make up their carefully selected Mobile Flooring Collection. The unique and easy process, from start to finish, is unlike any other in El Paso!www.chrisindatreadwell.com The delicious food, the beautiful speech, the official starlighter plaque and the ribbon cutting, it all made for a really great night! As you can see from the photographs, the food and drinks were top notch and Linda made sure her guests were taken care of.The speech from Linda's sister, Laura Leslie, was awesome! As Laura said, "It can be a risky move to ask family to speak at your event," hahaha, but Laura took the "sweet sister" side of the road and talked about Linda growing up and her path to the Sun City. And, how Linda's tenacity and drive has brought her to the place of owning her westside business, how Floor Coverings International will be a success because of Linda's hard work and determination. Encouragement from others!Surrounding yourself with business professionals, like minds, and the love and support from family and friends can certainly help a business grow. As you can see, Linda had lots of support for her new store opening. What a great start, the excitement, the love, and the true support for the future success of her business!Linda has certainly put in the work and built these professional and personal relationships and that is a testament to her hard work to build her business as well. We wish Linda all the best as she grows her business here in El Paso!Don't forget to leave a comment and show your support. :) We specialize in Wedding photography, Portrait photography, Extreme Sports photography, and also Professional Business and modeling headshot photography!I am a Certified Professional Photographer who loves Creative, Modern, and Romantic photographs. The El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, Albuquerque, and Canutillo are great areas to create heirlooms! (0 comments)

Girl? Boy? A super fun baby gender reveal!!!

Always a beautiful day in El Paso Tx, but for a Baby Gender reveal, it was especially beautiful outside!El Paso is a great big/small town and for this party, I traveled over the Franklin Mountains and through Fort Bliss to the far Eastside of town to photograph an event for some excited parents to be!Polly and George were having their baby gender reveal and they invited me to photograph all the fun for them!Fun right?! I certainly thought so! All in the details! The host, Vanessa, did an amazing job at all the details for the baby gender reveal party.Vanessa made sure that the guests were well fed and had plenty of opportunity to choose a "gender" side and cheer for their gender pick throughout the party. From the necklace beads, to the punch and cups, to the baby feet stickers, it was all so wonderfully organized.Great job Vanessa! Baby games can get really COMPETITIVE!!As you can see the fun was non-stop as the guests were trying to get a point for "Team Boy" or "Team Girl!" It was a lot of laughter and shouting out answers for their team. Can you guess which team won?! Time for the REVEAL!Vanessa sure gave Polly and George a lot of laughs before they got to see the gender of their little one. The ballon and the cake were both equipped with "boy" AND "girl" surprises to make it fun for Polly and George! It was so much fun to be there and experience these moments with them. After the indoor fun, we all ventured outside to the park for the REAL reveal!Polly said to George, just before she threw the baseball to him, "Don't miss it!"As you can see by the photos, George is a natural born athlete! Hope they pass on that sports gene to their baby! Congratulations to Polly and George on their baby BOY!!!I was so happy to be part of their special event and we wish you well during your pregnancy and delivery day.....:)www.chrisindatreadwell.com We specialize in Wedding photography, Portrait photography, Extreme Sports photography, and also Professional Business and modeling headshot photography!I am a Certified Professional Photographer who loves Creative, Modern, and Romantic photographs. The El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, Albuquerque, and Canutillo are great areas to create heirlooms! (2 comments)

The Military, Brothers, and Creating Amazing Images!

Army and Marines, two separate branches of Military, but for Andrew and Robert, it's only one love of Country! Another great day for creative compositing in El Paso, Tx! What is composting you ask? Well, it's the merging of images to create one amazing image! If you have seen the Extreme Sports Images that we create, this is the same concept but with the Military. Why do you only get to see a few images in the blog compared to any other portrait session? The reason is, the images take a lot of time to create and each image is specifically created at the clients request. Each image is thought through even before the clients are photographed. I have an idea in mind of what I want the image to look like to be able to properly set up my lighting. These Extreme Sessions have many hours behind the final image, but they are certainly worth the effort.www.chrisindatreadwell.com Do you recognize these handsome young military men?! I had the pleasure of photographing their Mother's wedding a year and a half ago and now the honor of photographing her sons in their military uniforms. Great right?!When Linda Approached me about photographing her military family, which you will see more of them in a later blog, I suggested the idea of a creative composite session. Of course Linda is always game for my ideas, which is why she is one of my favorite clients! As you can see, Andrew and Robert look amazing in their uniforms and though they didn't understand the "Green Screen" concept, they trusted me and posed how I needed them too.Wait till you see the Family Composite!!!A great shoot for sure and the images say it all........love of country and prayers and support for those who protect it!God Bless America!www.chrisindatreadwell.com

A Fall Family Session.......Oh, the colors!!

Vanessa and Rene, returning clients make me smile! What a great day in El Paso, Tx. for a family session! And as you will see, the leaves do change here in the sun city, sometimes! Lol!I have known Vanessa and her son, Rene, since he was a new born!We laughed together about how his session went as a baby! I believe we had a 6month and a 1year session as well, and as we caught up, Vanessa showed me her phone and her home screen was an image that we both loved from her sons 1 year session! That was a nice surprise to see that she cared for that image these past few years. :)It was so great to see them again and photograph them again. Rene has grown to be a polite and handsome young boy, thanks to his mothers guidance. He still has the same amazing smile and Vanessa, well, she doesn't age, apparently! :)Vanessa did an amazing job styling their outfits and they sure made the session super easy for me as usual! This session was part of my Fall Promotion and my client requested this location because she wanted a grassy area. I arrived early, like always, and found my light, which is a must when shooting a Natural Light session, and I made sure my backgrounds were full of greenery or trees, a usual for me in my natural light images. My client even made mention of my Photography Certification and how happy she was for me. She said, " I remember when you got that "gold tube!"
An Albuquerque Wedding at El Pinto!

Bret and Amanda exchange vows in an intimate wedding surrounded by family! I am sure it was a beautiful day in El Paso Tx, but I wouldn't have know because this time I was heading to Albuquerque, NM to photograph the wedding of Bret and Amanda!Such a nice sunny drive on my way to Albuquerque. Just the music and the road to keep me company!I arrived early, as usual, to scope out the location and get a feel for the space. The El Pinto restaurant was beautiful. I would have never known that the area that restaurant design for special events, like this one, was there. It was tucked in the back and you walked a stone path with the walls of greenery to follow you back to the covered patio.Such special place.www.chrisindatreadwell.com Found the Bride and Groom to be on time and ready for their shots, which made me happy. The wedding party was fun and energetic, which always makes my job easier and the Brides son, he certainly kept me on my toes. His faces and poses cracked me up, but he knew I needed my shots first then he could pose how he wanted! The ceremony was sweet and the vow that Bret took to the Brides son was very special as well.It was so nice to be part of such and intimate event with just close family and friends around to celebrate.I count myself fortunate that I am invited into the special moments of my clients lives.
Some gear talk: My first time using my new A1 flash and it was like we had been best friends our whole lives! Lol! The ease of it, I adapted well and it fired every time......all the images taken were with the A1, minus a few shots. It preformed so well.

Grooms, Grooms! So many handsome Grooms!

Its all the Grooms turn to shine!! What a great time to be a Wedding Photographer in the El Paso and Las cruces area! Since we had a look back at all the beautiful brides last week, lets now take a look back at all of our Grooms we have photographed over the years! My approach in photographing a Groom is a bit different than my approach with Brides. I am usually scheduled to photograph the Groom and his groomsman before the bride so they are my first view into the wedding day. More often than not, when I arrive, the groom is relaxed and ready to be photographed. I can usually tell from this first session of the day on how the wedding day will go. How, you ask? Well, more often than not, the groomsman are energetic and ready to have FUN and, they will keep the party going during the reception!I like to have a great time and not make it awkward that I am there to get the shots I need.Lighting is a factor as well, with Grooms. I prefer harsher shadows and more masculine poses. As you can see, most of the images posted, the grooms are in short lighting and in broad lighting on some occasions. Even using natural window light, I try to make sure that my grooms are in the best light possible. Or, we create the best light possible by moving furniture and adjusting the area for the shot!www.chrisindatreawell.com Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE photographing weddings!I have been blessed with the best clients and I feel that their images show how relaxed and how happy they are on their wedding day.I try to bring a calm and the least amount of stress with my tasks for photographing the wedding day. I am ALWAYS early, I am in good spirits, happy and full of joy to capture my clients day. Even in stressful situations, with the day running late or not getting the images I wanted, my clients will alway see me relaxed and ready to get the job done.I feel like that your clients hire you not only for your imagery but for your personality as well. Its our job as photographers to only add PEACE and CALM to a day that sometimes can be hectic. We should strive to not stand out but to be rememberable through our images and our professionalism.

A family session to remember!

The Medina family, a celebration of love. I normally start my blogs with "It was a beautiful sunny day in El Paso, Tx. for a session", but this day was definitely different! It was supposed to be a beautiful outdoor family session at my clients beautiful backyard, but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate the way we had wanted. It started to rain that afternoon and I kept saying, "It will pass, it always does!" Well, an hour after showing up to the clients home, it was still sprinkling! Man, did we ever hope and pray that it would just stop raining, but we had to make adjustments, and we did. I feel that being a professional photographer you have to adjust well to weather changes and changes to a session that you had originally planned out.Your clients should not feel stressed when it doesn't go as planned nor should they see you stressed out either! Yes, I would have rescheduled any other session, but this was a special day and the family was only together this day for the anniversary dinner reception, so the session had to happen. We went outside, in the sprinkling rain and shot very quickly and got as many images as we could before it really started to come down again then, we regrouped, dried off and shot the rest of the images inside the home. With the day we had and everything that went wrong that day, we really made some beautiful images for the family to cherish for years to come and thats a "great session" to me!www.chrisindatreadwell.com

Mr and Mrs. Media were celebrating their wedding anniversary with a dinner reception with family and friends that evening.Mrs Medina decide to have me come to her house to photograph her family before their dinner, since it was rare that her children were all together in the same town.Such wonderful host, Mrs Medina was. She was so welcoming and was open to any ideas we had, due to the weather. She allowed us to move furniture around and to make the adjustments to her house that we needed. Mr Medina's ailments kept him from standing so we adjusted and did all we could to make hime feel comfortable through the session. Also, the chair used indoors was an important piece to Mrs Medina, so we were sure to use it in the photographs.During the viewing session, 2 weeks later, Mrs Medina was excited to view her images and was pleased with the images she saw, which made me happy! At one point, she got up from viewing the images and went to the refrigerator and brought me some mango pudding that her and her granddaughters had made earlier that day......so yummy! Its families like the Medinas the make me happy to be living my dreams and to know that my imagery that I create is not only appreciated but the images will be cherished.

Brides, Brides! All my Beautiful Brides!

A look back into the beautiful Brides I have photographed! What a great time to be a Wedding Photographer in the El Paso and Las cruces area! I thought it would be awesome to take a look back at some of the brides I have had the honor in photographing over the years. My approach in photographing brides is to capture them, on a day they feel the most beautiful, in a way that they can look back on the images and remember the day with love and happiness. Part of my education has been learning to pose brides, from the slimmest to the curviest, and to help them understand that my job is to flatter them in their images and not to take away from their beauty. Lighting is also a factor. As you can see, most of the images posted, the brides are in short lighting, which is common for flattering women in photography. Even using natural window light, I try to make sure that my brides are in the best light possible. Or, we create the best light possible!www.chrisindatreawell.com Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE photographing weddings!I have been blessed with the best clients and I feel that their images show how relaxed and how happy they are on their wedding day.I try to bring a calm and the least amount of stress with my tasks for photographing the wedding day.

Cars, Cars, Cars!!! Oh, what a Car Show!

A Great Day at the Painted Dunes Car show! Yes, its ME! The El Paso WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER, that you all know so well, at a Car Show! What a beautiful day in El Paso! I woke up and looked outside, as I normally do when I have events and thought, what a great day for a wedding, but what an even BETTER DAY to photograph my FIRST Car Show! Yes, you read correctly, this was my first time to capture this kind of event. Awesome, RIGHT?!The clouds covered most of the day and the area I was given gave me access to each car as they drove up, to get a shot with the beautiful mountain and cloud filled sky in the background.Don't get me wrong, I LOVE WEDDINGS, but the change of pace is good for your creativity and to break up the normal pace.I had a blast photographing this event and I hope you enjoy the images as well!www.chrisindatreadwell.com Painted Dunes Golf Course hosted this particular Car Show. The volunteers were organized, under the direction of Arwen Lyle, the Private Events Director at the Golf Course and the event went on smoothly throughout the day. What I really liked about this location was the fact that the cars were able to park on the beautiful lush green. It was such beautiful area and it showcased the cars very well. There was such a mix of cars that it seemed like there was a style for everyone! The big Monster truck was one of the first to arrive and it WAS HUGE! Come to find out, it was just the baby brother!!! BIG BROTHER came in on a diesel bed and it was so AWESOMELY AMAZING!I loved the care and attention to detail that the car owners took. Polishing and buffing and just making a good FIRST IMPRESSION.
So, which car is your favorite?!Mine?! Well, so hard to choose but, I love the old school trucks, especially the purple and black ones, and I have always been a fan of the old school hot rods too. Treadwell Photography would like to keep you informed on new "blogs", up and coming "seasonal specials", and "tips and tricks" to becoming a better photographer yourself!Click the button to "subscribe" to leave us your email and we will make sure you are kept in the loop!

A Beautiful Family Wedding!

The joining of family.......can it get any more beautiful?! From our first initial meeting to our scheduled last meeting before the wedding, Yvette and her family were SO FRIENDLY and WELCOMING! We talked and laughed like we had always know each other. The wedding day, on the westside of EL Paso, Tx was just beautiful! Being a Wedding Photographer, you hope for good days and sunny skies, and our weather here in El Paso, Tx, does not disappoint this time of year!Yvette was radiant in her dress and the whole family looked great and were very much ON TIME! The ceremony was filled with love and a strong commitment to the union of marriage. I experience many wedding ceremonies and what I love most is the uniqueness that each one brings. When I am scheduled to start the wedding day at the Brides location, I always hope for a nice big window! Why, well, I love the natural light that comes through a window. I love the shadow details and the mood it gives. I arrived early to the brides house to find a calm and relaxing mood and the bride ready for her portraits! As you can see, the brides daughter Illiana, the camera sure did love her! She was so sweet the entire day and just posed and smiled like she had practiced for days! Generation pictures are so important to me to capture. I always try to bring together moms and daughters and even fathers and sons to get a special generation picture together. Life is fleeting and to have these images is priceless! The day can get so busy and lets face it, sometimes really long too, so I make sure to capture these images before the day gets really started so that the older generation are not to tired. I want to be sure to think about my clients family as well and getting the images I want without to much stress.I look at images like this as heirlooms and pieces of art to pass on to the younger generations and to have these generational images is just a gift in itself. This was the first time I had the chance to photograph the wedding at this wedding venue, Los Portales, in Anthony NM!I was an intimate and cozy reception area and had great areas for portraits. Treadwell Photography would like to keep you informed on new "blogs", up and coming "seasonal specials", and "tips and tricks" to becoming a better photographer yourself!Click the button to "subscribe" to leave us your email and we will make sure you are kept in the loop!

My favorite Fitness sessions (revisited)!

Dedication. Determination. Hard work. Photographers, sound familiar? I started photographing fitness sessions, in El Paso TX., early on in my career and they soon became some of my favorite sessions to photograph. These athletes train hard and day in and day out live their dreams. Their success in competitions and in training others is a direct result of their dedication to their craft. As in photography, we have to study, practice and learn new techniques and not become stagnant in our ways. Maybe thats why I can relate to their motivation to succeed?!If it was EASY, everyone would be doing it, RIGHT?!My advice to everyone chasing their dreams, stay focused in your determination to achieve all you hope for. The fight and the struggle is worth it!!Take a small look into how I photograph these truly amazing athletes! A simple black or grey background is the best option to use when photographing fitness models. You want the focus to be on the models and not have a busy background competing with your subjects.Lighting these particular sessions have to be one of my absolute favorite subjects to light. I use a Low-key lighting when photographing athletes. You want to accentuate their physique and to do this, you need to create a lighting set-up with various highlights and shadows across the subject rather than trying to light everything. Choosing a high-key set up will cause a flat lit look and dulness to your subject.
Posing fitness models may be a fairly easy task depending on whether your client is a seasoned professional or not. Athletes have studied and practiced posing for competitions and take posing very seriously, but I have found that although the initial pose may be from the athlete you will need to know how to tweak the pose and adjust it for proper lighting. These particular poses in this blog were from me. I was trying to create poses that would show their hard work in the best light possible and these athletes loved how their final images printed. Why do we have coconut oil on hand during these sessions? We love that shine on their chiseled physiques and the light loves it too!The oil helps accentuate and define their muscles and its good to have around in case your client forgets their preferrd method.Yes, I have been asked if apply the oil.....comes with he job! Lol! One of my passions as a photographer is to help others with what I have learned. I know growing in this field can be intimidating and you can feel less than sometimes, but I know how far I have come and I know if I can become a better photographer ANYONE can! I know that asking for help can be tough as well, thats why when I mentor other photographers I meet them where they are. No judgement about what they don't know, but the focus is more on "What do you want to know?"If you need help in any area of your photography journey contact me for more information. A Certified Professional Photographer creating artistic images for the El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, and Canutillo area. (4 comments)

Ring Shots! Are they a lost art?!

Photographing heirlooms during a wedding day! I am always asked, by other photographers, "You still take ring shots, WHY?" My answer, "WHY NOT?!" I once asked a photographer, while second shooting for them, if they wanted me to get set up for them to take the ring shots, he replied arrogantly, "I don't take rings shots anymore, its old school." I was kinda stumped and thought, wow, what a great opportunity missed! I guess we all approach a wedding day differently and decide what images are important to spend time on. My approach, why rule out a wedding ring shot?! If I have time, it IS an image that I love to create! I think that photographers get so caught up in the "Trends," which are important, but we forget about the "Classic Trends" as well. Ring Shots ARE NOT a lost art, but they are an amazing way to show your creativity! Photographing the wedding rings has always been one of my favorite parts of a wedding day! With all that comes in a busy wedding day, photographing the wedding rings is my chance to be creative and create a beautiful image for my clients. I look around for special decorations that the couple may have made or something to relate to the theme of the wedding, if there is one, to use in my images.I always ask my clients during their 30 day consult if they mind taking their rings off on the wedding day for a ring shot so that they are not surprised on the day of.www.chrisindatreadwell.com The most important necessity is a macro lens. A macro lens is a must-have lens for wedding photographers because photographing small details like the rings requires a macro lens. I use the AF-Micro-Nikkor 60mm f2.8 which is the perfect lens for me when I need to shoot the details of small objects like the rings. This lens allows me to photograph the details of even the tiniest of diamonds with beautiful clarity and shine. I simply wouldn't be able to do this with any other lens. The second most important necessity is light. Many photographers use speed lights or Ice Lights or something similar when photographing details. I have used these things but have found that I typically prefer to use a very simple LED light that I bought from Doug Gordon. These LED lights have been the perfect addition to my ring shots and have helped me create MANY ring shots! www.chrisindatreadwell.com Let talk settings. I prefer to shoot at approximately f5.6/f.8. for me, because it is closed down enough to ensure that all parts of both rings are in complete focus, but still wide enough to allow a bit of fall off, love the beautiful bokeh, and blurred out backgrounds. I do know of some photographers who will shoot wide open during ring shots (or close to it), however, I feel its important to have at least one shot with both rings completely in focus to give your client a variety of images to choose from.www.chrisindatreadwell.com One of my passions as a photographer is to help others with what I have learned. I know growing in this field can be intimidating and you can feel less than sometimes, but I know how far I have come and I know if I can become a better photographer ANYONE can! I know that asking for help can be tough as well, thats why when I mentor other photographers I meet them where they are.
Bridal Fair Time! Why do I participate?!

A look into my booth at the Elegant Penguin Days of Remembrance Summer Bridal and Quince Fair! As the owner and sole operator of Treadwell Photography LLC, I have the opportunity to make to first and last impression on my clients. I want my clients to know me and my brand. One of the BIG ways that I do this is through Bridal Shows! Yes, yes, I know, the dreaded bridal show, but for me and my company its important for me to connect with future clients and vendors in this way.I have been part of the Las Cruces Bridal Fair for a few years now and I must say participating in the El Paso show was a little intimidating because I didn't know what to expect. What was so great about the Elegant Penguin Days of Remembrance Bridal and Quince Fair, just the professionalism of the staff and the organization and preparation for the day. From the start, the staff stayed in touch and kept us informed and really filled the venue with potential client for us to converse with. Yes, it was difficult to talk to EVERYONE, but the experience overall, for my first show with them was a positive one.
Starting with a blank canvas, I have spent several years perfecting my booth and trying to make it all about my brand and the images. This is the second year that I have used the Xpozer. The Xpozer is a interchangeable, lightweight, high definition wall display that has changed the way I show my images at shows. The matte finish on the images allows a vivid color with no glare from the convention lights. It really is a show stopper!Printing my images in a 24x36 size not only make for an striking display but client love the size as well and they can image themselves in the images. I had a client, who already had a wedding photographer, book me for an Engagement session at this show and pointed to one on the images and said, "We want that location and that style and we want that size of print." Great right?!Whats the saying, "If you want to sell it, print it!" My table display is really very simple. My Certification is displayed as well as my BBB(Better Business Bureau) ranking. Education and Customer Service are a top priority for me and its important that my Clients know that. I wanted my companies name on the table cloth and for it to be bold and simple. On the table, my clients see my business cards, my usb's, and a chapstick(for booking clients) that all reflect my logo. I limit the books I display to 3-4 so the table is not too crowded.I want them to remember me and my brand so for me, its about consistency. That consistency also runs through to my packaging as well. It may not be the way most do it, but delivering the final product bagged or wrapped makes a huge impression on your clients.
I understand that Bridal shows are not for everyone, I get that, but for me and my company it opens so many doors, not only to meet clients but to also meet vendors. It was certainly a great day and I was happy to be part of the show. I am looking forward to next year!!
Before and After! My editing process.

From start to finish......a look into processing an image. Before my wedding images even comes through to Photoshop, I have already set in my mind what I want my final image to look like. It starts for me during the session. I have planned a creative edit or have in mind what I want the overall finished edit to look like. Sometimes though, I can have a plan and the final edit evolves into more than what I had imagined. If you are looking for some GRAND editing process or some "Trick of all tricks" to my editing, I am here to tell you that my editing is pretty straight forward. My general rule when shooting is to "GET IT RIGHT IN CAMERA" first and then make minor changes in Photoshop. Image #1The first two images you see are the SOOC(straight out of camera) and the Final edit.I wanted you to see them side by side because I am a visual learner and I hope this can help other "visuals" like me!My process of editing comes from many years of trial and error. I am not a fast editor because I am a little OCD with my images, but I feel that what I create is worth the time.I definitely have learned to be more efficient and have learned to do that on my own. Yes, I have taught myself to edit up to about a year ago and it has been a long uphill road.I hope you see my passion for photography, which includes the many hours of editing too!If you have any questions as you read this blog, please feel free to reach out to me.HOME Image #2We see the screen shot of the RAW edit. I always photograph my sessions in RAW because of the advantages. RAW files record and retain all the information captured, which takes maximum advantage of the camera’s dynamic range, the lightest and darkest parts of a scene.
Raw is defined simply as: a uncompressed (or losslessly compressed) digital image file format; a digital negative because raw files themselves aren't typically used as finished images but contain all the data necessary in creating a final image. I like my Temperature at 5500+ and my Saturation at 10+ because I prefer a warmer looking image. The Exposure really depends on how I shoot the original image. This image was shot 1stop under and I didn't care for that so the next couple of images that I took in the series I made the adjustment in camera. The other adjustment also really depend on the look I am trying to achieve as my final edit.

HOME Image #3We see a screen shot of my edit in Photoshop. The edit is very light here because the model had very light skin retouching, which is done on the "background copy." I normally make separate "layers' for retouching if the edit requires more in each area of hair, skin and background, but because I knew it would not take much time to edit this image, I decided to put it all on one "background copy."My usual "Layers" to follow my "background copy" are "curves," "brightness/contrast," and sometimes an adjustment layer of "saturation" when I am editing a portrait. The crop: I decided to crop this image close because I loved the expression on the Wedding model. I also decided to rotate the image to the right a little as well.

I know growing in this field can be intimidating and you can feel less than sometimes, but I know how far I have come and I know if I can become a better photographer ANYONE can! I know that asking for help can be tough as well, thats why when I mentor other photographers I meet them where they are.
Amazing Natural light and Off Camera Flash Photography in the El Paso heat! It was a HOT day in El Paso, Tx. No surprise! Why did we choose to have the Wedding Workshop in the blazing heat? Well, as Wedding photographers in El Paso, we sometimes don't get to control the times that the Wedding Portraits happen. We get stuck in the blazing heat and we are unable to sway clients sometimes to choose cooler shaded locations. :)We wanted out students to experience a real day wedding time and to learn the skills to move through the portraits with confidence and ease, even in the harsh, blazing heat!Equipped with cold water, much needed sunscreen, an umbrella for the models and a wagon to cart gear around, we were off! The afternoon session started in beautiful Downtown El Paso at the San Jacinto Plaza. Our goal was to teach the students that the harsh sun could be used to make beautiful images that their clients will love! What can you control in this harsh sun? Well, we can control the quality of light and the direction of the light. The quality of light is defined by how hard or how soft the light is. With the harsh sun, it creates a high contrast look that we didn't want. So, we used a large diffusion panel and brought it in close to our model, for the light to fall of fast, to give us the soft light look we were after. We made sure to position the model against greenery or a building as our background to avoid an overexposed sky in our images. The direction of light can be controlled by moving our model and ourselves around when taking the image. Amber was our first model.....love working with her. A true professional. All of Amber's images were photographed with a diffuser panel in close, held high and angled to give her a short light pattern and also in the shade with a silver reflector to shape the light as well. Our next model couple was Douglas and Terry Kahala. We photographed them in natural light as well. The images you see were taken with no modifiers. We searched for locations with light reflecting off of the ground and buildings to light this couple. The clouds were moving in and out so it gave us some even light at times.Terry is such a great model to work with. She is always on time and a true professional as well. We asked for her husband Douglas to come along and we were not disappointed.....lots of laughter! After a great meal at Rudy's BBQ, we headed to our evening "off camera flash" portion of the class. We had a slight mis-communication with one of the models not showing up, but we are photographers so, WE ADJUSTED. :)Our Franklin Mountains location was a great area to photograph the setting sun!We approached this session as we do any other session. We ensured that the couple wore the clothing we needed. We used darker dressier clothing because of the background. We didn't want their clothing with prints or bright bold colors to contrast with the awesome scenery!
We wanted our students to learn the importance of photographing their clients in many lighting situations. We had them first focus on using the direct setting sun, in case they had no flash to use. We knew these images would be high contrast, with no fill, but we wanted a more edgy modern look here.We taught how to pose couples in THE WIND, which is common in El Paso, TX., what to do if their couples had sensitive eyes to the sun, how to meter for a non-overexposed sky and to ensure that the couple was positioned below OR above the horizon. Our model couple Daniel and Michelle, did such an awesome job. They followed our direction well and looked really good for our students. With the time winding down and the sun setting, it was time for our sunset photography. My favorite!!We had the students meter for their ambient and get their flash settings. We explained the importance of the position of the strobe to ensure a good lighting pattern on the brides face and also posing the bride to flatter her.We ensured that the brides position stayed above the skyline to give a maximum view of the beautiful sky. We also squeezed in some veil shots too!A BIG 'thank you" to Michelle for filling in for us. She was such a big help and really had patience while the students learned. The day was long but we had an AWESOME time teaching, sharing and helping the students build on their knowledge of photography. We hope the students walked away with some techniques they can use in their everyday weddings. Next up on the Blog: A look at "Before and After" images. I am visual learner and I know when my mentors post the SOOC(straight out of camera) images and then the final edit for me to see, it really helps me to learn how they photograph and just HOW MUCH editing they applied.Stay tuned!!

Finding Love Again!

A beautiful backyard wedding filled with Love! Such a beautiful day in Las Cruces NM for a wedding! Backyard weddings have been events I have grown to really love. They are intimate and completely family oriented and the bride and groom always seem genuinely relaxed. A natural light backyard wedding can bring its lighting challenges, so its important to scout locations and meet with your clients at the venue/house, at the time the wedding is to occur, to help your clients understand the lighting patterns and what they will see in your images due to the bright sun and heavy shadow. I am a firm believer in preparing for each wedding or event that I photograph. There are many challenges during any event and coming equipped with reliable gear and prepared with knowledge through education will help you trouble shoot any situation. I first met David and Verna at the Las Cruces Bridal Fair in January. I knew David had knowledge of photography by the kind of questions he asked me initially. Fortunately for me, it only took them a few minutes to decide that I would have the honor of photographing their wedding! As I got to know them a bit more, I realized during that conversation that I kept saying, "Wow, really?" Their Love story isn't one you hear very often. They both have gone though life and through love and even some tough times, to ultimately find each other and find Love again! The day of the wedding, Verna was beautiful! She had told me, in one of our meetings, that she was so excited about her dress and she looked so amazing in it! The dress flattered her perfectly! David was cool calm and relaxed as expected. He was smiling form ear to ear when he saw his bride for the first time.My goal was to give them images that represented their love. To show the funny side as well as the intimate side of their lives together.David and Verna have given themselves another shot at Love and we wish them all the best in there marriage! Treadwell Photography would like to keep you informed on new "blogs", up and coming "seasonal specials", and "tips and tricks" to becoming a better photographer yourself!Click the button to "subscribe" to leave us your email and we will make sure you are kept in the loop! A Certified Professional Photographer creating artistic images for the El Paso, Las Cruces, Fort Bliss, and Canutillo area. (4 comments)

A Workshop: Do's and Don'ts of Headshot Photography

A FUN Headshot Workshop in Albuquerque, NM. It was a beautiful day in Albuquerque, NM and a great day to have a Head Shot Workshop!I never thought that I would say this but, "I am learning to love teaching." I have found that it gives me a platform to share, to encourage and to help other photographers raise the bar through education and mentoring.Yes, its a scary thing to get up in front of people and share your knowledge but, I am slowly facing fears and learning to be confident, but yet humble, in sharing what I have learned with others.I have a passion to give back in life. I enjoy helping others because I know of my own struggle to come up in this photography field. You gotta have people in your corner, people who want see you win and I hope anyone I have opportunity to teach or mentor can see that I am in their corner and I want to see them WIN!The beautiful Irene was our model for the day. She was just supposed to be our morning session model, but ended up with us the whole day. What a trooper she was! A cosplayer at heart, Irene is such a professional model at such a young age. She was upbeat and never complained and really took direction well. I hope those of you in the Albuquerque, NM. area get the chance to work with her. The morning of our workshop we started off with traditional professional Head Shot photography. We wanted to teach the students about a portable set up for client convenience and to be efficient in on location photography services. We can get very creative with Head Shots, but I believe its important to build a good foundation of technical lighting and posing first. Most don't take a professional headshot as of any importance, but in this age of online searches, your head shot is the first representation of who you are. We wanted to teach our students to gently urge their clients to take pride in who they ARE NOW, not what they looked like 20 years ago! Right, we all know of the person who has a head shot that looks NOTHING like they do now?! Or, even worse, a cell phone selfie in bad lighting, Yikes!Your clients seeing a current version of you online builds trust and confidence in the services you are offering. After our morning session with the Traditional Head Shot set up, we went into the afternoon to work with the Eye Lighter! As you can see, the Eye Lighter produces a clam-shell style reflection with a single light.Irene rocked this session! She was such a great model to work with. She not only took direction very well, but she knew how to pose!I don't photograph many models because I have high expectations and Irene exceeded my expectations! Studio Location Provided by Isaiah Orozco with "The Studio ABQ."1751 Bellamah Ave. SW.
Oops, I did it again! A photography session with my other teenager!

Client: Daughter Photographer: Mom......AGAIN! Yes, I photographed on my OTHER teenager as well! I knew that Madison would want the same kind of session as her brother, because of how much she liked his images so, we took on the task like we do any other session. We planned the outfits and planned how the shoot would be the day of. Of course we had to have an Extreme Sports sessions for Madison's too!Lighting for an image technically and executing it correctly is attributed to the long hours of studying and continuous learning. Becoming a Certified Professional Photographer was about raising the bar in El Paso, for clients to know that their photographer is a trained professional and a licensed business. I take pride in my small business and I wouldn't be where I am without my clients who believe in us and our desire to always provide the best! Girls ROCK, right?!Madison just looks AMAZING in her ROTC uniform and we can see a glimpse of her future with the military. Keeping with our decision to stop buying the BORING school images and create our own has been challenging and satisfying as well. Madison's time in front of my camera does not disappoint!
The day started off as normal and the sun was shining, as usual, on the westside of El Paso, TX. I decided to shoot indoors this year and to photograph Madison on the green screen for her ROTC Extreme Sports images as well. Same as her brother, we went through 5, YES, 5 outfit changes to get what I wanted and Madison is always happy to oblige. My teenage daughter, also adopted only 3 years ago by my husband and I, LOVES having her picture taken, I mean, what teenage young lady doesn't! More importantly, I LOVE taking her images for her. Madison never complains and is always ready to help me test lighting and is patient with me when I want to try new techniques. She is very appreciative of me and her comments and approval of my images gives me a thankful attitude. I feel blessed to have the ability to take my children's images and consider it an honor and not a chore to do so. I hope you see how much Madison enjoyed her session. Madison said, "Mom, I am going to get more views than Drew!" "I am going to show EVERYONE!"Yes, there is a healthy competition in everything they do! (0 comments)

I Survived! A photography session with my teenager!

Client: Son. Photographer: Mom. How do you prep for you own teenagers photography session? Well, we took on the task like we do any other session. We planned the outfits and planned how the shoot would be the day of. The Extreme Sports sessions have become a big part of Treadwell Photography, and in just a short time, so I knew we had to incorporate it in Drew's session as well.Prepping for the session has two main parts; the technical aspect and the creative side. My Photography Certification helps me prepare for the technical lighting and the creative side, well, sometimes it comes during the session and sometimes I can see the final images even before the session begins. Lighting for an image technically and executing it correctly is attributed to the long hours of studying and continuous learning. Becoming a Certified Professional Photographer was about raising the bar in El Paso, for clients to know that their photographer is trained professional and a licensed business. I take pride in my small business and I wouldn't be where I am without my clients who believe in us and our desire to always provide the best! Yes, I actually photographed my own son's images and we both left the session happy! I decided two years ago to stop buying the BORING school images and take on the task to take my kids school pictures every year. The day started off as normal and the sun was shining, as usual, on the westside of El Paso, TX. I decided to shoot indoors this year and to photograph Drew on the green screen for his ROTC Extreme Sports images as well. We went through 5, YES, 5 outfit changes to get what I wanted and Drew was happy to oblige. My teenager, although adopted only 3 years ago by my husband and I, has been well prepped over the last couple of years in photography and loves his picture taken! As you can tell, the camera LOVES him and more importantly, I LOVE taking his images for him. He is so appreciative of me and his comments to my images, "Mom, that is so cool!", "Mom, that is REALLY GOOD!", "Thank you Mom, for doing this for me," gives me a thankful attitude. I feel blessed to have the ability to take my children's images and consider it an honor and not a chore to do so. I hope you see how much Drew enjoyed his session and how letting him wear his favorite hat and sweatshirt in his session MADE HIS DAY! (0 comments)

So Beautiful! Taylor's session in Downtown El Paso!

The colors in Downtown El Paso were amazingly beautiful during Taylor's session. The clouds covered the sky perfectly and made beautiful light to compliment Taylor. Treadwell Photography has been shooting in studio for many years and heading outdoors for Taylor's session allowed me to apply my Certification in another way. We love to find our light to flatter out clients and to give our clients an experience that they will always remember. You may recognize Taylor from her Extreme Sports Swimming session posted a few weeks ago. Have you seen it?! AMAZING!We had a great time walking in Downtown El Paso talking and photographing Taylor and getting to know her. She is such a sweet young lady.As you can see the camera loves Taylor and she poses so naturally. Her outfit choices were spot on and really helped enhance the session. The location, the outfits, and the idea of the session is what we enjoy planning and it gives the session a relaxed experience. I love when family comes along for the photo session and talking with Elda, Taylor's Mom, to catch up was perfect. Plus, getting to now another Muller athlete, seriously talented family, was so much fun!

What?! Swimming can be an Extreme Sport too?!

Extreme Sports Swimming session with Taylor! YES!! Here at Treadwell Photography, we take on any sport and make it EXTREME! We believe that EVERY SPORT deserves the spotlight and its chance to shine! The El Paso and Las Cruces area has some REALLY TALENTED ATHLETES and its about time that they had images to show how truly great they really are. Every sport takes a commitment and a sacrifice and we understand that. We also understand that, like swimming, it takes a commitment to succeed. A quality product from us is a dedication to you that will show in the images that we create for you. Our time and our talents are built through education and practice, just like your athlete, we work at BEING THE BEST! It was great to meet Taylor, first at her birthday session downtown, and then again for her Extreme sports session a few days later. I had photographed her brother for his senior pictures and I was excited for the opportunity to photograph Taylor now, several years later. Taylor was the perfect client to have to feature my first swimming composites. Taylor is a strong swimmer and it shows in her images. She is a tough sweet girl who swims not only for her high school but for a club team as well. As you can see by the medals she is wearing in her images, she is a REALLY GOOD swimmer! She made the posing easy and the best part, her mom got to SPRAY HER with the water bottle when I needed water droplets! She may or may not have gotten carried away, at the opportunity to squirt her teenager with water! Lol! Good times with the Muller family, as always!! Next week on the blog, Taylor's Birthday session! Some beautiful images......Cant wait to show you all! Treadwell Photography would like to keep you informed on new "blogs", up and coming "seasonal specials", and "tips and tricks" to becoming a better photographer yourself!Click the button to "subscribe" to leave us your email and we will make sure you are kept in the loop! (4 comments)

An Extreme Sports Football session with Quarterback Jase! "Why not?!" Thats what we say when we are asked why the Extreme Sports images are needed in the EL Paso and Las Cruces area! "Why not" have images that are well planned out, with strong technical lighting, and photographed by a Certified Professional Photographer. Our images are DRAMATIC, UNIQUE, and MEMORABLE and your star athlete deserves to shine and we make sure they do!The images we create are unlike any others in the area and are custom made to fit your athlete. Always a great day in El Paso, Tx and it was time for an Extreme Sports session. This time, FOOTBALL! Jase was up on deck and boy, he did not disappoint! It had been a while since I last photographed Jase's brother for his senior pictures, so seeing Jase, all grown up, was awesome! Jase is a quarter back for his team and an amazing player. Such a quiet teenager, but fierce and strong to command his team on the field. Dana, Jase's mom, is such sweet and funny lady! I think my favorite part of the session was when she came to fix Jase's hair when he needed it. Slicking it down with spit, is what I suggested! Lol!Never a dull moment with the Molden family around. So FUN!!
My clients trust me to provide a quality product and their trust means everything to me and my business, so for clients to come in for their Extreme Sports session and be excited about a product they HAVE NOT SEEN yet, yeah, thats complete trust and thats a reputation built on delivering quality product.Always a fun time during the sessions and even much more fun when I get to humbly show my clients their final product! Treadwell Photography would like to keep you informed on new "blogs", up and coming "seasonal specials", and "tips and tricks" to becoming a better photographer yourself!Click the button to "subscribe" to leave us your email and we will make sure you are kept in the loop! (2 comments)

An Extreme Sports Soccer session with the talented Kyra! Sports sessions don't have to be boring! We love to create and make images that are not only unlike any others in El Paso and Las Cruces area, but also to give your star athlete a session filled with fun memories!
Your athlete works hard and trains hard and deserves to have images that will represent them and their sport in an amazing way! We had an amazing time photographing Kyra for her Extreme Sports session! I was a beautiful day in El Paso, TX. The sun was shinning and made way for a perfectly planned sports session!
Kyra is a such a natural in front of the camera. Yes, this young lady is a published model, but don't be fooled, she is a tough competitor as well! I knew the session was going to be fun when Kyra's mom, Jackie, contacted me for the session. We always have a great time together when we are photographing her beautiful girls!
It was quite a different session from what I am used to when Kyra is in front of my camera, but she certainly rocked her session! She brought some serious "Tough Girl" attitude and I feel the images really show her quiet side as well. Kyra gave me some great shots to work with to create these awesome images! Don't you agree? Always a pleasure working with her family and I look forward to the next time! Treadwell Photography would like to keep you informed on new "blogs", up and coming "seasonal specials", and "tips and tricks" to becoming a better photographer yourself!Click the button to "subscribe" to leave us your email and we will make sure you are kept in the loop! (2 comments)
